Richard L. Blanck 1940 ~ 2009 Richard L. Blanck passed away on August 24, 2009, from complications with heart and liver disease. He was born and raised in Bennion, Utah. He graduated from Granite High School in 1958. He graduated from Utah State University in 1962, and Law School at the University of Utah in 1965. Richard married Joan Snarr in the Salt Lake Temple in 1965. Following their marriage, he spent three years as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force, in Illinois. They returned to Salt Lake City, where he practiced law for 36 years with Prince, Yeates & Geldzahler. Richard and his wife had five children, and raised two grandsons, Kalvin and Danial Blanck. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed his years of service as Bishop of the Wasatch Ward. Richard was appreciative of his friends, they were very dear to him. He is predeceased by his parents and oldest son Collin. He is survived by his wife, Joan. His children Jeremy (Stacy), Kristen Bagley (Judd), Jenny Okland (Jamie), John (Lisa). His grandchildren Kalvin, Danial, Mary, Beth, Meg, Alyssa, Thomas, William, Kate, and Ben. He also is survived by his three sisters Renee (Glenn) Ahlstrom, Dian (Denny) Edmunds, and Doreen (Bryce) Nielsen. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, from 6 -8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 28, 2009, at the Wasatch Stake Center, 8170 S. Short Hills Drive (3425 East), with a viewing beginning at 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
