Memories of Kayleen Huffman- Pugh
Kayleen LaRae Huffman Pugh 1929 ~ 2009 Kayleen LaRae Huffman Pugh, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and artist died of complications from heart surgery early Thursday Morning. Kayleen was born in Murray, Utah to Lovell Huffman and Nellie May Donegan on May 28, 1929. She was raised in Holladay, Utah. Graduated from Granite High School, and attended Brigham Young University. She married Spencer R. Pugh in the Salt Lake Temple on September 22, 1949. Kayleen was a talented artist with a giving nature. She served as president of the Water Color Society and received the honor of Art and Soup Artist of the Year in 1999. She studied with some of the most famous artists in the nation. Her paintings grace many homes throughout the Intermountain area. Kayleen had many other talents as well. She was an expert seamstress and took pride in gardening and keeping a meticulous house. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous church callings She is survived by her husband, Spencer R. Pugh, brothers Kenneth and Richard Huffman. Her children Mark (Mary) Pugh, Sandra (Jocke) Olson, Julee (Harold) Buffington and Kerry (Judy) Pugh. 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Intermountain Medical Center for their expert and loving care. Funeral services will be held at the Butler 33rd Ward, 1845 East, 7200 South on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Drive and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
