Claron Delone Bailey 1922 ~ 2010 Claron Delone Bailey, 87, passed away March 3, 2010. Claron was born June 11, 1922 to Mary Arriminta Butterworth Bailey and Leonard Reuben Bailey in Salt Lake City. He attended Granite High School. Claron met his sweetheart Elizabeth (Betty) Crane and married her February 19, 1949. He was a devoted family man and a good provider. Claron and Betty raised their nine children across the street from his childhood home. As a father, he took his family on weekly outings throughout Utah. He was a wonderful provider. Claron, along with the help of his younger brother Vayles, started Claron Bailey Drywall. This successful business was well known locally in the trade. He was the first independent drywall supplier in the industry. People were drawn to his unique character and sense of humor. He was honest and generous and a man of his word. He treated everyone equally. Often outspoken, Claron also possessed a sensitive spirit. He loved babies and animals. He especially appreciated the mountains. He loved to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Claron had an inquisitive mind and could converse with anyone anywhere. He enjoyed photography, growing vegetable gardens, going on rides, telling jokes and purchasing the latest in technology. Survived by his wife Betty, their children Betsy (Jim) Lund, Mary (Mark) Pugh, Robert (Marion) Bailey, David (Kathy) Bailey, Susan Summers, Melinda (Kevin) Johnson, Barbara (Mark) Robinson, Jim Bailey and Chuck Bailey who cherish the memories of their father, 35 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, sisters Mirian (Milton) Wadsworth, Maxine Bennett. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Vaughn and Vayles Bailey. Funeral services will be held Monday, Mar. 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Brookshire Ward, 3487 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City. Viewings will be held Sunday, March 7 at 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wasatch Mortuary 3401 South Highland Drive and preceding the services on Monday 10:00 a.m. at Brookshire Ward. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
