William Carl Fagergren 1924 ~ 2010 William Carl Fagergren, 85, was born November 25, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah and passed away November 8, 2010 as the result of a fall at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the sixth of seven children born to William and Ardella Cannon Fagergren and was raised in the Sugarhouse area. He was an award winning swimmer at Granite High School and later attended the University of Utah.Bill joined the Navy in 1942 and served as a naval aviator in World War II. He flew PB4Y2s and had a lifelong love for flying. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Grover, on September 26, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had five children. Bill worked at Continental Bank, Kraft Foods and owned a used car lot on Main Street in Salt Lake City. In 1968, he began selling Real Estate and became co-owner of A&B Realty with his sister Arlene Dean. He taught Real Estate courses at LDS Business College and was a great motivational speaker. He was the owner of Century 21 of the Rocky Mountains and was instrumental in bringing the Century 21 franchise into five western states. He enjoyed photography, automobiles and was a scratch golfer. Bill provided a wonderful life for his family including many family trips that were enjoyed together. After his children were raised, he and Shirley traveled extensively throughout the world. One of his greatest legacies will be the educational opportunities he provided for his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three sons, William Jr. (Marilee), Paul (Sandra) and Mark (Kathryn) and two daughters: Jane (Fred) Mensel and Amy (Jamie) Lund. He also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, and his beloved Schnauzer, Charcoal. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 11, at 12:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment: Wasatch lawn Memorial Park Online condolences may be made at http://www.*****/****
