Chad D. Roberts 1962 ~ 2010 With great sadness we mourn the loss of Chad our beloved husband, son, uncle and friend, who passed away at home on November 18, 2010, surrounded by loving family and friends, following a courageous eight year battle with multiple myeloma cancer.Born in Salt Lake City, UT on November 11, 1962, to Al and Karma Roberts. He graduated from Granite High School in 1981, where he was an all-state football star. Chad married Billie Jo (Garcia) and they recently celebrated their 21 year anniversary. In their years together they enjoyed many wonderful trips, including adventures to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe and a Caribbean cruise. Chad was an avid outdoorsman. He also loved spending time with family and friends. His interests included hunting, fishing, boating, trap shooting and all sporting events. There wasn't a deer he could not shoot, a fish he could not catch or a target he could not hit. He was highlighted in Trap and Field magazine for making ATA history by moving to the 27 yard line in record setting time. He also loved four-wheeling on his camouflage Rhino. Chad spent time in tire sales, fencing and the construction business. He always had a smile on his face, with his great sense of humor and was known to enjoy a cold "Bud" or two (or more). He is survived by his beloved, devoted wife Billie Jo, his loving mother Karma, sister Beth Ann (Steve) Humes, brother Lynn, grandparents Lloyd "Snooks" and Tracy Roberts, in-laws JR and Flora Garcia and Ray Crumbie. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many wonderful family members and friends. Preceded in death by his father Al, grandparents Dailey and Bernice VanTassell, his mother-in-law Mary Louise Crumbie and his cousin and hunting buddy Tony Casper. We take great comfort in knowing that Chad's pain and suffering is behind him. Special thanks to Dr. Zangari and the entire staff at the BMT Clinic at the Huntsman Cancer Center for the love and support they showed Chad and our family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 23, at 12:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. So. Jordan Pkwy (10600 S.), South Jordan, UT. Viewing held on Monday, November 22, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to services on Tuesday. Interment at South Jordan City Cemetery. Online condolences at http://www.*****/****
