Memories of Beth "Hansen" Burns
Beth Hansen Burns The Greatest Mother Ever Another Angel returned to Heaven on February 22, 2011. Our beloved wife and mother died peacefully at her home just two days shy of her 76th birthday from cancer. She eagerly awaited the reunion with her parents, Jules Christian Hansen and Emma Smith, as well as her siblings Emma Allgier, Robert Hansen, Dell Hansen, Andrew Hansen, Lois Fallentine and Wanda Ahlstrom, all of whom preceded her in death.She was born February 24, 1935 in Salt Lake City. She was raised in South Salt Lake and graduated from Granite High School. She married Kenneth Richard Burns on July 17, 1953. She supported him faithfully for the next 57 1/2 years. She dedicated her life to her family. She took great pleasure in making them happy. She enjoyed the beauty of nature, gardening, reading, cooking and making crafts. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband Ken and her children Mary Wells, Cher (Dean) Dust, Ken Burns Jr., Lisa (Rudy) Chacon, Ann Foote and Mike (Gaylene) Burns. She adored her grandchildren Tige, Trent, Steven, Todd, Jill, Bryan, Lindsay, Dylan, Carly, Michael, Kayla, Sara, Jessica and Angel as well as eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two of her children, Joseph and Colleen, and two grandchildren, Megan and Justin. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Mike Mecham and Dana Travis and the entire staff of Community Nursing Services, a non-profit hospice provider, for their devotion to caring for our entire family during the final weeks. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South, concelebrated by Monsignors Colin F. Bircumshaw and Robert R. Servatius. A vigil service will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Committal, Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in her memory to Kearns-Saint Ann School, 430 E 2100 S, SLC UT 84115 or Community Nursing Services, 383 W Vine St Ste 300, Murray UT 84123.
