Memories of LaVern "Lever" Rouska
LaVern Rouska 1917 ~ 2011 LaVern Lever Rouska was reunited with her husband of 55 years on May 11, 2011. She was 93 years old. She was born Nov 4th 1917, attended Madison school and won Valedictorian at Madison Junior High school. Graduated from Granite High School where she won a gold medal and scholarship. She attended LDS Business College. Married John F Rouska on her birthday Nov 4, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings James Lever, Dorothy Kylen, Zorae Hardy (Bob), John T. Lever (Beverly), and twin brothers Don Lever (Ruby) and Ron Lever. Also daughter in-law Moroni Rouska (Monte). She had held every organist job in her ward except priesthood. She held many positions in her ward. Including Chorister, Relief society councelor, and Den mother, she won an award for writing the original music for a ward road show. She taught piano, loved gardening, loved cooking from recipes, and loved her family. She is survived by her children LaNelle Grant (Aaron), John V Rouska, Darryl D Rouska (Lois), Monte Rouska, and Kevin Rouska. She had seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild Aiden Scott Christensen. Also sister in-law Earlene Lever (Ron), and brother in- law George D. Rouska . Services will be held Monday May 16th at the Kearns 3rd Ward, 4715 S 4300 W at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior. Viewing will be held Sunday May 15th at 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.
