Robert Glen (Larsen) Maxfield 1932 ~ 2011 Beloved husband, father and grandfather, son of Della Hyler and John Maxfield, was born in Salt Lake City on September 8th, 1932. Bob died on July 11th, 2011 after a long illness which he faced with quiet dignity, strength and his unique and wry sense of humor. He was raised by his loving mother and his dear step-father, Oscar Larsen, whose surname he used during his school years. He graduated from Granite High School and the University of Utah. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan and Korea as a clerk specialist. He married Faye Christensen, his high school sweetheart and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and eternity. They were the parents of three wonderful children, Lisa Ann, Robert Christopher (Lisa) and Eric Glen (Lara). They shared the delightful blessing of eight marvelous grandchildren, Stewart, Amanda, Maren, Michael (deceased), Emma, Patrick, Sydney and Charlie. Bob enjoyed every minute he spent with them. Bob was a CPA for most of his working years and practiced his profession until his health forced him to retire in 2010. He loved music and was an accomplished pianist. He also learned to play the guitar when he was in his sixties. He liked destroying unwanted plant life in his yard and was very proud of his green lawn. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, his children, seven living grandchildren and his only sister, Barbara Hair. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Susan Dawes, Marilyn Niederhauser and Chelle Landry. They made it possible for Faye to fulfill her outside obligations without worry about Bob. Bob especially appreciated their friendship and concern. We also want to thank Bob's buddy, Rolando, the hospice CNA. There will be a viewing on Thursday evening, July 14th from 7:00 to 9:00 at the Cottonwood 8th Ward, 6301 So. 2300 E. And from 10:00 to 10:45 Friday morning at the Ward, and the services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences: http://www.*****/****Donations to Primary Children's Hospital or the LDS Humanitarian Fund in Bob's name would please his family.
